It is mustahabb to fast a great deal in the month of Sha’baan.

Ahmad (26022), Abu Dawood (2336), al-Nasaa’i (2175) and Ibn Maajah (1648) narrated that Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “I never saw the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) fast two consecutive months apart from the fact that he used to join Sha’baan and Ramadaan.”

According to a version narrated by Abu Dawood: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never used to fast any complete month in the year, apart from Sha’baan, which he used to join to Ramadaan.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, 2048.

The apparent meaning of this hadeeth is that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast the entire month of Sha’baan.

But it was also narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast all of Sha’baan apart from a few days.

Celebrating the Night of the Israa’ and Mi’raaj

Israa-MiraajThere is no doubt that the Israa’ and Mi’raaj (the Prophet’s Night Journey and Ascent into heaven) are two great signs of ALLAH which point to the truthfulness of the His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him), and the greatness of his status before ALLAH. They are also signs of the great power of ALLAH, and of His exalted position above His creation. ALLAH says (interpretation of the meaning):

Glorified (and Exalted) be He (ALLAH) [above all that (evil) they associate with Him] Who took His slave (Muhammad) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid Al-Haraam (at Makkah) to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem), the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad) of Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. [Al-Israa’ 17:1]

Advice to Children

The best of speech is the Book of Allaah, and the best of guidance and example is the guidance and example of the Last Prophet, Muhammad (salallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam). And the worst of things in this religion is everything that is brought into it that is not from the religion, and this is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.

Many of us know that the greatest blessing that Allaah has given us is the religion of Islaam. All of us breathe, all of us eat, all of us walk, all of us use our arms and our legs, and can see and hear, and Allaah is the one who gave us all of this. So if Allaah (tabaaraka wa ta’ala) gave us all of this, we thank Allaah.

Also when we are suffering and ill, Allaah (Azzawajall) is the one who cures us, but instead of asking Allaah to cure us we ask the sun or mountain or moon to cure us, and then when we die and Allaah raises us we ask Allaah to put us into Paradise. So He will not put us into Paradise because He cured us when we were sick, gave us good health, and so on, but instead of thanking Allaah and asking of Allaah, we thanked and asked of other than Allaah.

 Selling by installment through the Bank

Here one company offering installment for their product for the price of cash. Means if a item is SR 3000, we have to pay SR 250 per month. No extra charge. But the installment is offered through one bank which is not islamic. (Bank will buy the item from the company & sell it to us & we have to pay monthly amount to Bank) My question is it halal to take such installment from bank. Is it permissible to take money from bank which is dealing in RIBA?.

   a.   that the bank buys the product before selling it to the customer;

   b.     that it does not sell it on the premises of the company; rather it should move it to its own premises or to another place, because of the report narrated by al-Daaraqutni and Abu Dawood (3499) from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I bought some olive oil in the marketplace and when it came into my possession I was met by a man who offered me a good profit for it, and I wanted to make a deal with him, but a man behind me took hold of my arm. I turned around and saw that it was Zayd ibn Thaabit. He said: Do not sell it where you bought it until you take it to your place, for the Messenger of ALLAH (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade selling goods where they were bought, before the merchants moved them to their places. This hadeeth was classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

What or Who is Salaf?

The manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf is to adhere to the Qur'aan and the authentic Sunnah as understood by the Salaf as-Saalih. The word Salaf is a shortened version of the word 'Salaf as-Saalih', which means the 'Righteous Predecessors'.

It refers specifically to the first three generations of Islaam in which the Prophet Muhammad (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) described as being the best generations of Muslims. The first, the Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and his Sahaabah (companions). The second, the Taabi'een (the followers of the companions). The third, the Tabaa'at-Taabi'een (the followers of the followers of the companions).

Generally, this term refers to all those pious predecessors who followed the way of the Salaf and who have preceded us in time. This is the true manhaj of Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jamaa'ah.

Quran :: Hadith

Al-Quran: O ye who believe! let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor let some women laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (Indeed) doing wrong*
